“Transform the fade”

A fun way to sample new books and find new writers is through the Weekend Writing Warriors central page. On their page you can visit all the authors sharing excerpts. Mine is below.

“People are good at finding gentle words for horrible things. As the gentleness multiplies upon your lips and fills your lungs like air on that second heave, bright is the day you learn to breathe water. Lover of lovers, teach me to breathe water and speak in iron alchemy. I pray to the forever broken Goddess that she might hear my prayer, that my words might break the waves and reach the spaces in between. I pray that She might forgive my breathless romance with this horror love and transform the fade.”

The opening line is interesting. I also like the reverse of it: “…horrible words for gentle things.”
    Well done!

Hmmm. Unfolding your words and studying them like watching a rose bloom. Amazing.
