Celebrating the cover reveal of The Arrangement by Nicolette Hugo.
“Nell Harper’s got her life all figured out:
Build a successful law career, find Mr. Right, then have 2.3 kids and a white picket fence. Everything is going to plan until a handsome stranger stops her from stepping in front of a speeding car.
Vincent Mason, rising politician, not only rescues Nell from death but from her safe but predictable life as he introduces her to the darker pleasures of domination and submission. What starts as a six month arrangement of sexual liberation turns into a deeper emotional exploration and Nell soon finds herself letting go of preconceived ideas of love and lust.
But can Nell trust Vincent enough to truly surrender herself?
And can she trust herself enough to listen to what her heart truly wants?”
This is a bit of a selfish blog piece, even though it may not seem that way. Yesterday was the cover reveal day of my dear friend and crit partner Nicolette Hugo. The cover is so very Nicci. It is sensual, warm, stylish and sleek. It is the kind of cover that if I was walking through a bookstore I would feel compelled to pick up just so I could trace the sensuous lines and peer deeper into its shadows.
As well as wanting to celebrate Nicci’s cover reveal I just want to acknowledge and thank Nicci for all her support as a crit partner and what joy it brings me to finally see her dreams coming to life. Not only because of the happiness it brings her but because it also provides me with hope that with enough hard work and determination (and by God has Nicci put in the hard yards as well as being naturally talented) dreams really can come true. What they say about novels being written in blood, sweat and tears is all true. But I also know that it is all worth it. There is nothing quite like seeing your dreams and the dreams of others manifesting in reality.
I feel truly blessed to work with the crit partners I do. They provide invaluable feedback, essential support, and lots of laughs. (Life tip: if you want a friend with a wicked sense of humor – make friends with a romance author.) Although I have already read Nicci’s work hundreds of times I am going to pre-order her book because I know what a treat you are all in for. When the time comes I will write a more detailed review of why I love Nicci’s writing and in particular, The Arrangement. I fell in love with Vincent and I know you will too. I honestly believe she is up there with the likes of Tiffany Reisz in terms of being one of today’s best BDSM writers. I just hope The Arrangement goes to print so I can get a signed copy because I know Nicci is headed for the big time.
Congratulations Nicolette, may this be the first of many cover release celebrations.
You can pre-order The Arrangement here.
